Liquid-Liquid extraction with systematically adjusted PH

Flow chemistry as a combination of continuous processing and continuous in-line analytics.

The team at the University of Leeds presented a rapid continuous processing methodology to screen for the optimal, selective, liquid–liquid extraction conditions, where the PH gets systematically monitored and adjusted to optimize the extraction efficiency.

The result is an autonomous system for exploring the amine extraction conditions: optimal amount of acid and organic-aqueous phase ratio.

A Zaiput SEP-10 is a key enabling component of the flow setup, allowing for continuous phase separation with 100% efficiency, necessary for optimal off-line HPLC analysis
